FOP2 can't handle german 'umlaute' like 'ß'

Hi,

is there any chance that FOP2 is able to deal with german "umlaute" like 'ß' in lable text?
We like FOP2 so much.

    It should work providing configuration files are saved as utf-8. We even have simplified chinese working. Best regards,
