How Does Call Recording Work?

Just curious about how call recording works. Are the recordings stored on the client side or on the server? I have clicked Record and see the icon on the client. But, once I stop recording I don't see any indication taht there is a recorded file.

  • They are stored in the normal area as if you were to record the call using your handset (*1).

    In PIAF, I just go to Recordings from the kennonsoft menu for the user the recording is for.
  • In Elastix 1.5, to get the 2 legs of the recording to be merged into a single .wav file
    you also need to have sox/soxmix installed.
  • I am running FOP2 on an Ubuntu system with Asterisk 1.6.0.18. I have sox installed, but the calls legs are not merged. I have two separate 'in' and 'out' .wav files. How can I automate the merging process?
