Trunks not showing up & conferences not showing active users

I have FreePBX 2.10 and Asterisk 1.8.9.3 running on CentOS 6 i386 with FOP2 2.26 & FOP2 Admin 1.2.10 and it works quite well with a couple small exceptions. Last week for no reason that I can find my SIP trunk stopped showing up in FOP2 despite not being hidden in the FOP2 admin settings. I have also noticed that conference room participants are not listed in the conference room area of FOP2. Any suggestions on troubleshooting these issues?

  • To check the buttons that fop2 will see, run the autoconfig-buttons-freepbx.sh script and inspect the output. Do you see the sip trunk there?

Are you using fop2 lite or paid version? Remember that the lite version has a limit on the number of buttons to display (15). Anything above that will NOT be displayed.

Regarding the conference, it is hard to tell. Is it a meetme conference or confbridge? Be sure you have all privileges for read/write in /etc/asterisk/manager.conf , if you do not have user events enabled, you won't see conference activity.

    Best regards,
  • Thanks for the prompt reply.

Indeed the reason the trunk was not showing up was due to the number of buttons. I was under the impression that the limit was on the number of extensions. Easy fix...removed one of my test extensions. We will be buying a license very soon so this will be a non issue for us.

As to the conference issues, its confbridge, and the privileges are read/write in manager.conf. I'll check to see if user events are enabled tomorrow, I am done for the day.

    Thanks again.
  • What Asterisk version are you using? AMI support for Confbridge is only available in Asterisk 10. It does not work in Asterisk 1.8 or older. If you want to monitor conferences with Asterisk 1.8 or older, you must use meetme.

Asterisk 1.8.9.3. After digging around last night I figured that was the case. Our setup is pure VOIP so Asterisk was compiled without support for DAHDI so using meetme is not an option for us. Oh well, not a huge issue.

    Thanks.

You can add this after the event even to a binary install. Then meetme will work rather than just hanging up...
