FOP2 vs Asternic Call Center Stats

What are the differences between FOP2 and Asternic Call Center Stats?

  • Hi,

Asternic Call Center Stats is mainly a reporting tool for queues. It parses the queue_log file and produce reports and graphs. It also has a Realtime tab that display queue activity at that moment. It gets the realtime information by polling the asterisk manager every 5 seconds. It also shows some information in the realtime that is not available in fop2, like seconds since the last call.

FOP2 does not perform polling, it receives events synchronously. So it is much more "realtime" than asternic realtime tab. FOP2 also shows much more than only queue activity, and it lets you perform actions over your calls. If you are logged as a queue member, you will get a call notification on incoming calls telling you from what queue the call came from. There is no such feature in Asternic, as it is mainly a reporting tool.

Asternic commercial version has an improved real time page that lets you launch spying from the realtime tab. It also lets you listen to recordings from the reports, and has a very granular access control system. Both the lite and pro versions let you monitor outgoing traffic by implementing a special dialout context.

So, FOP2 and Asternic Call Center stats are complimentary tools, with just minor "overlapping" on the realtime view.

    Best regards,
