Call pickup does not work

Asterisk 11.7

Just installed FOP2 and it seems to work ok except for call pickup using the web interface.

Log into FOP2 with ext 201
call from 203 to 201

FOP indicates the incoming call, phone is ringing but when I click on the "pickup call" button nothing happens.

Do I have something misconfiguration or am I not understanding the nature of the "pickup call" button.

ps: I tried searching for this problem prior to posting but the search functionality on this forum seems to be broken. Always says the search terms are too general...

FOP2 uses the pickup asterisk application, for it to work both extensions should be part of the same pickup group. Can you pickup calls with your handset only (dialing *8 or similar). If you do, then fop2 pickup should work as well.

Hmm, I'm not trying to pick up another extensions call,
I'm trying to pickup my extensions call.

I'm logged into FOP2 with ex 201

A call comes into 201 from anywhere..

Will the "pickup call" button cause the physical phone on x201 to go off hook when clicked?

Hi,

FOP2 cannot control a phone, it just controls the PBX. As such it cannot "answer" a call from your phone. The pickup action in Asterisk is to move a ringing call in some remote extension to your own. That means that your own extension will ring, but then you will have to answer with your hard/soft phone as always.

So, you cannot "pickup" your own ringing call. It is an usual confusion, FOP2 is a switchboard, not a phone and as such it won't control endpoints, just the middle man (asterisk).
