How to send email with FOP2

I would like to know how to send email using FOP2. I have entered the respective email addresses in FOP2 admin. What else do I have to set up and what can I expect to happen when I click on the send email icon of an extension? Right now nothing happens.

    It will fire the registered mail application in your browser. the same as any other mailto: link you can find on any web page.
