A few chat questions/suggestions: timestamp and colors

I'm mainly looking to:
A) Add a timestamp to the chat for **received **messages.
b) Change the color/font of the **received **messages to make them more easily distinguishable from the **sent **messages.
Is there any relatively simple way to accomplish these? I don't see any styles associated by transmit/receive-side.
