Is fop2 running? pgrep fop2 Is it binding to port tcp/4445? netstat -lnp | grep 4445 Perhaps FOP1 was reinstalled and started, if that happens FOP2 will appear to start ok but it will fail shortly afterward because it cannot bind to an already opened/used port. In that case, you will have to stop and disable fop1 and try to start fop2 again.

Managed to resolve it thanks to one of our engineers! there is something in /tmp/par-root which is preventing fop2 from starting so it must be something which has been created on the fly that fop2 is trying to run from that directory we removed that directory, recreated an empty one, and it started straightaway.
