If the root of the device name varies, then there is no way to track it in fop2. Any channel driver that uses:
TECH/name-WHATEVER YOU WANT
will work fine in either direction. In the other hand, if the channel driver uses:
TECH/WHATEVER-RANDOM-VARIABLE-THINGY
cannot be tracked with FOP2.
